Hello!
What color i need to use to paint wheels? Tamiya said TS-42, but is too dark, and as i see at another models - color very similar to steel. Where i can find good reference photo? Search on this forum doesn't helps - dead links everywhere

The thing about the wheels on the Williams is that every picture I have shows the wheels in various states of use. If it's before the race, the wheels are a very bright, almost white aluminum. By the end of the race their so covered in brake dust they're almost black. I personally like Steve's method. Painting them in a buffing aluminum paint, then coat them in a light wash of smoke to give them a used look.

I think I used Model Master Metalizer buffing aluminum and buffing gunmetal, 1+1 ratio, I thought that was close enough to light gunmetal which I didn't have. pics on my website
