Lightbulb Pictures of you tint

I am looking at tinting the windows of my RSX but im not sure what percentage to get. So if you have any pictures of your tint they would be very helpful. I also hear that there is a real problem seeing out of the windows at night - any comments?

Re: Pictures of you tint

I have mine dark all the way around and I have no problems. You can click on the link below, in my sig... to see pictures of my car. I should have some pictures with my windows up. Also, I have white interior, so my tint doesnt look as dark as it really is.

Re: Pictures of you tint

I went 35% on the sides, 20% in the rear window, and I wouldn't change any of it.

Re: Re: Pictures of you tint

I have 35/20 and it's not bad. Having limo all the way around is when you start having problems. I had to open the door to back up at night with my old car, couldn't see a damn thing in or out.

pic's in my sig and www.tintdude.com for all types of tint shit.

Re: Pictures of you tint

the tint law in n.c. is 30% so i usually have mine about 35% and 20% in the back( they dont tend to notice) having it darker helps when you have tailgaters but sucks when backing out. i had 5% on my ford ranger and had to back out with the split window open which sucked in the rain.

I have mine @ 35% all around, which is the lowest you can be and still be street legel here. I wanted to go a little darker, to around 20% but the car in front of me there had just gotten it. I liked it, but the car in back of me was there having them remove all his after a ticket. I didn't want to risk having to remove it from the back window someday, since I happen to like my rear window refrost, LOL. I suppose if I could do it again I'd say screw it and get 20-25%, but oh well probably a good thing I didn't. I am pretty sure I would have had to remove it by now., and 35% is better than none. 20% all around is pretty darn dark though, no real need for jet black 2.5-5% limo tint. I always feel there's no real need for darker than 20%.

Re: Pictures of you tint

here in ontario its 20%...i just got my done 20% and i still wish it was alittle darker..but whatever the law is where u are from..i'd say u'd be ok by braking the law by 5%..i dont think a cop would really notice.i would of done 15%..but the place i went to only had 20% and limo(5%)..nothing in the middle

not to diss anyone but I have always thought it looks better if u keep it the same % on every window..i just think it keeps the car looking clean and simple

Be legal, do not get the VLT Percentage under the legal limit in your state, it gives PROFESSIONAL tinters a bad repuation if you get illegal tint, plus I think the tinter is liable for the charge if you get a ticket from it.

Really? You think so? Hmmm I guess that waiver you have to sign saying "I am aware the state's legal tint limit is 50% and do not hold [company name] liable" is just for shits and giggle then. Good try though, but next time say something smart.

i understand that these numbers aren't a danger to other drivers, but it's the principle. if i can get in trouble for installing something illegal like window film, why don't the muffler guys get in trouble for installing illegal exhaust?
and the guys who install illegal mirrors?
and the guys who install illegal lights?

why are tinters singled out?
Quote:
Until recently in Indiana, the installer was not liable. Now he is.
Hahahahaha. You're hilarious. The reason why I said think, is that not all states have that legislation. In Indiana, the installer IS liable for illegal tint . Above are two posts from two different PROFESSIONAL tinters from tintdude.com

Have a nice day.

In some areas the installation shop is liable since they are well aware of the laws and can be fined, etc as a result, regardless of what you signed. This ins't the case in all areas, but it is in some areas. In ohio where you live I am willing to bet this is not the case. It very likly could be the case were he lived. That's probably why he mentioned it, to make sure people knew. Remember, it can vary from state to state, just like the laws as to what the legel tint limit is do. For example, much like installer liablity can differ, so does the tint laws themselves. The tint law in is Oregon is far different from the 50% limit on cars in Ohio. 35% is the limit on all cars. Trucks, Vans, SUV's, etc can have as dark as they want in the rear as long as the front 2 are 35%.

If someone is genuinly concerned about such things, it's best to do the research as to what the laws are in your state before you get the tint.
