Do you use this often?

Just wondering if you guys are looking for a multimeter and how many of you out there actually know how to use one? (I ment to use it to dyno your engine)

Is this worth it to you? http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...ndexURL=0&rd=1

Yes, you can run all sorts of tests to tune your engine with a multimeter. Why do you think all those functions are there for?

Dyno's test HP. Multimeters test voltages, current, and resistance. Multimeters are very important for testing your wires/wiring, fuses, batteries, resistors, etc...I got mine from Radio Shack for about $50, but I only needed the basic functions, so I opted for the cheaper line of multimeters.

Yep. The one on ebay that Tofuboy there is a special automotive version, and it will also measure RPM with an inductive pickup off one of the spark plug leads. A nice feature. I have an older analog meter in my garage that does the same thing.

But it's not a dynamometer.
