Progress: Honda RC211V Telefonica

I love the Telefonica colour scheme and when I saw this kit I just had to have it, I started with the engine and swingarm because I'm scared of messing up the body! I decided to build out of the box, work is too crazy right now and I really want to get something finished.

Anyway, here's the pics.

Comments, as always, are welcomed

Re: Progress: Honda RC211V Telefonica

Hi
really like it. Seems that you have used Alclad or something similar for the otherwise pre-chromed parts wich I think looks a lot better. As I'm doing the same kit right now I would put a warning finger up for the Tamiya Teléfonica color that is called for in the manual. It comes out too dark if you spray too thick coats. Spray VERY thin coats or consider using another paint. Vill be interesting to follow your project. Don't be afraid for the body parts, they aren't that hard actually and you better start them now so that they have time to cure.
Best regards
Joel

The block and everything looks great so far. Keep us informed how you go. Yeah, a lot of people attack the body parts first, 'cause it is often the easiest bit to screw up. Not that you are going to have any problems.

Well, the recent slew of RC211V's made me get this out again. Body panels are painted, well, all except one that I messed up. I used the TS-51 as reccomended and sprayed it on thin and the colour is probably a bit too dark but I'm happy with it. Anyway, here's a couple of quick pics of the chassis, I'll take some more daylight pics tomorrow with some of the panels fitted, I'll also make sure there aren't any dodgy decorations in the background, the bike is on the highest shelf in the house at the moment away from the cats!!!!

For some reason photobucket is sizing the pics way down so they are small, I'll try and figure that out for the pics tomorrow.

Looking good, very clean but the photos are small, I think photobucket resize picture if it is larger then 250mb so try to keep in that size.

Great work so far! The engine looks great, what paint did you use and what type of wash?

Re: Progress: Honda RC211V Telefonica

Thanks for the comments, I'm still struggling with the pic sizes so hopefully I'll get something up in the next day or two.

Robrex, the engine block is painted in Tamiya Spray, Light Gun Metal with a was of thinned out smoke. I forget the mix I used on the covers and sump but it was based on what the instructions say with a little change, I'll try and remember what I did because I like the colour and I may make another one of these soon, I love this kit.
