Yeah, well, hopefully that will leave an example to anyone who thinks about doing that again and think they can get away with it. I just feel bad for the children who died in that incident.

They should have had a public hanging so the wanker could be seen hanging by his neck.
I feel for the parents of children killed and for all the others who lost there lives in such a pointless act. How the hell can his lawyer stand up and try and say things good about him....makes my blood boil ....BURN IN HELL YOU BASTARD....

I will add that not only should he be strung up by the neck. Do it slowly so his neck doesn't break and let the victims or their relatives use him like a pinata.

The should have relentlessly slugged him in the genitals until he vomited. Then they should have poisoned the vomit and made him eat it.

I watched a doco about him last night. Before the bombing he seemed like a really nice guy, everyone who knew him liked him.
I think he thought he was doing right, he was just fucked up and paranoid. He had a military way of thinking, he thought that the civilians were collateral damage and a necessary sacrifice. For those reasons I don't think he was truely evil, certainly not the monster the media made him out to be. He believed that what he did was no different than the civilians he saw killed whilst serving in Iraq and the Ruby Ridge/Waco incidents. I also believe in some of the conspiracy theories surrounding the case. |

What does killing him prove? That we 'Murkans don't take crap?
Man, I'd rather be put to death then spend 10 or 20 or more years in prison. Putting him to death does guarantee that he won't say anything that might cause Americans to think about what probably really happened. one unanswered question: Why were all BATF personnel at that location not at work during the bombing? Did they know in advance? Nah, it was probably just coincidence. He got off easy if you ask me: First injection puts you to sleep (no more pain) Next comes some drug to paralyze your lungs (like it matters now, your already in nirvana from the first shot) 3rd, and finally, a drug to stop the heart. A little overkill, but hey...This IS America! |

I believe if you take someones life you should have your own taken.
Why should he live in prison the rest of his life, having 3 nice meals a day, TV, etc. Its our tax money looking after him.

Capital punishment is a tricky issue. In this case, I think it was the right thing to do. He killed too many people in a heinous act to allow him to live.
But, not only was LK right, but he brings up another point. He thought what he did was okay and beneficial. Obviously he's insane. But, shouldn't we maybe deal with reform rather than punishment? When Kip Kinkle was given a somewhat light sentence I was glad. He was just a confused kid, and maybe with some help he can live a semi-normal life.

Why should the tax man spend money on someone like him to see what makes him tick. The bill could be thousands. The money would be better off being spent on other things like education/housing/health etc. .....and who's to say after his reform he would'nt do it again ?

Just my 2 cents.
What Timothy McVeigh did was wrong! I can't condone any form of violence to solve an issue. Looking at what he did from his POV, if he had problems with the government then he should have taken it there. Why blow up a building that is full of civilians? Why blow up a building filled with children? So if I have beef with let's say NYPD, I should just go and blow up my local precinct? No! He tried to justify his actions by saying he was fed up with the way the government is getting too overbearing. To some fact, that is true. But if I am really that unhappy with it, why don't you just leave this country? You see, it's human nature to sit here and say this and that. But it is a totally different story when your loved one is directly affected. One can say, yeah, let him rot in jail or solitary confinement. But the restlessness that one feels, knowing that the person they loved is lost and this guy just sits patiently waiting for his time to come. I don't think there is a soul in here who can say they wouldn't want to see him dead! As expensive as it is, I'd put him to death in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even go so far as to do all of that, just put a gun to his head and pull the trigger. My feeling is this, you take a life, you lose yours! I don't hate anyone unless they do something to me directly. And if they did do something, it will be to that person alone.
