Cat Back? Headers? Both?
Hey, I am looking into gettnig something new as far as exhaust. I am kinda limited on funds, so I cant get anything REALLY expensive. My car is all atock now except for the APC Intake with K&N High Flow Filter. I was looking at getting a Cat-Back Exhaust or new Headers. My exhaust (from the cat back) right now is kinda crappy. Should I get new Headers first or a new Cat Back system first, Or should I just wait it out and get both things at once? Looking around I have noticed that Pace Setter is some cheaper stuff, and I take it that it means that it is not any good. I was looking at the Airmass Warlock or something comperable. Is this any good? If I was to get just a Cat Back for now (and having a 90 Accord, 2.2L) What do you think my HP could be after? Gas Milage? (25 mpg now)
Thanks for your help! I dont want to mess up and buy the wrong thing!

Someone was telling me the pacesetter exhaust fall apart in a year! I personally wouldn't buy anything that cheap!
If your short on cash and your willing to wait to buy a good catback exhaust do that! The cheapest catback exhaust is probably the apexi ws exhaust you can get it around 450 shipped! Or you can get a custom exhaust if you don't want to spend that kind of money! I would get a exhaust before header! Some good headers are dc sports, neuspeed n2 and greddy!

In my opinion you should get an Exhaust before headers. That seams to be the trend anyway. Is your short on funds you might want to consider getting an Axle back exhaust and then upgrade to a cat-back. A wise man once said you get what you pay for so I would stay away from Pace-setters. Some good company'z are Greddy, DC Sports, and the Airmass's arn't bad either. Good luck.

I guess I am not in the trend then.
I run stock exhaust and have a header. Headers are a lot cheaper then a full cat-back. Just because you are short on funds don't buy what ever. Go for quality before you just go out and buy stuff because you want it. Quality stuff last a lot longer and is worth what you pay for. Buy what ever you want or just wait it out and get both at once. If your exhaust is in bad shape (broken or rusted) then I would go with the exhaust first. I know you are all in it for that exhaust sound huh?? |
