Re: need driving lights

Sylvania Silverstars or Piaas have been the best driving headlights I have come across, and I am sure most of the people here. A bit pricey but they so the job nicely.

As was said, get PIAA's or Silverstars, and stay way from the rest.

PIAA super Plasma GT-X's will give you the color you are looking for in a qaulity bulb. They arew around $70 but well worth it plus the have a 1 year warrenty. They color temp you are looking for is around 5000K, a nice white with a slight bluish tint. These are the closest you will get to real HID's without buying real HID's.

Here is a picture of my car with those lights, PIAA Super Plasma H3's in projectors (they have more of a bluish tint than the picture shows).

Here is a picture of SilverY2Kcivic's car with H4 Super Plasma GT-X's in his headlights. This picture shows the slight bluish/purple tint better.

Here is a picture of the Kelvin color temp scale.

Read this link for info of bulbs, color temp, hwo it works, what if effects, etc.

It's $70 for the pair, not one bulb. Also don't look at just the size. PIAA's also are the ONLY BULB ON THE MARKET with a 1 YEAR WARRENTY. The Super Plasma GT-X has the bluish tint you want, looks like real HIDs and IMO and SilverY2Kcivic's provides better light output as well. SilverY2K ran silverstars and ditched them for PIAA super plasma GT-X's. You many not like the price, but for the bulb they are giving, the price is not outragous.

That was the price for the bulb that FIT the descritpion of what you wanted, a whitish light with a bluish tint. The reason they fit is due to the color temp. Silverstars are around 4000-4200K, and Super Plasma's are around 5000-5100K. Look at the chart in my above post and read the thread (it is a sticky thread @ the top of the forum) if you want more of an explanation. PIAA has other bulbs which are cheaper, the same price, etc. Other than PIAA, SIlverstars are the only other bulb I will recommend. However, I perfer the 1 year warrenty of PIAA, the color temp, the way it looks and the light it provides. If you feel the price is too high, then just stick with Silverstars. IMO, PIAA's are worth the extra $$, but that's a matter of opinion. If you feel PIAA's are too much, just stick with SIilverstars. Other cheap bulbs that try and give you such a color are crap: poor light output (worse than stock), they'll burn out quickly...just poor bulbs.

As I said, I'll only recommend PIAA or SIlverstar lights.
