Exclamation Please help!!

Hello guys...I have very little knowledge about audio systems for the car so i need help.
i bought a kenwood head unit because i need to get rid of the single din so i can put my gauges in the center console (for my turbo)...i don't want to splice the wires to hook up the new headunit because it's too messy. I went to a local audio shop to get a harness, however, the guy told me that since the Bose speakers are only 1 ohm and the kenwood output is 4, if i keep the speakers i will fry my headunit? is this true?? I really don't listen to my radio that much and the ONLY reason i got a headunit is to make room for my gauges...if i leave everything else stock (amp, speakers, tweeters what have you) would i still get a messed up headunit? also, where can i get a harness for the bose system? (b00gie, i know you send me a link..but i lost it hehe)
thanks for the help! oh, i also moved my AC controller to the center of the console instead of the top cuz thats where my gauges go, it actually fits quite nicely...just like stock

whoever told you that seriously has some issues..

you'd run into a problem if you scrapped the stock AMP and kept the Bose speakers... but they also make adapters to save you there...

i know at least 10 people who own p11 g20's and swapped their headunits only and have not ever had problems. Also for the first 8 months i had an Alpine head unit only and the BOSE speakers and everything worked fine (and sounded A LOT better than stock i might add...)

the adapter is at www.autotoys.com goto the shopping area and then you'll see it in one of there sub sections.. "BOSE Adapters". it's the one that says something like "95+ Nissan Bose Adapter (Infiniti)"

just make sure you get the one that says its to replace the stock stereo headunit (they also have BOSE amp adapters...)

Dude - how hard was it to move the climate controls? I wanted to do this and a few people said it might be hard (I STILL haven't pulled the dash off yet). Anyways I'm putting in a fold out flip up screen in my car and if I leave the controls where they are when the screen is up it will be a pain to use it.....
Your Cars lookin cool and so is the engine

Luke... sweet.

Chris... its really easy to get too and check out, just remove the two screws underneath and then give it a tug. its got some sturdy metal clips but nothing will break. takes about 30 seconds to get it off and look inside

chris, yeh, just like b00gie said, it's really ez to take off the dash...to remove the ac controls, there's two screws on each side..and that's pretty much it.

G22DET:

Dont listen to most people that will tell you stuff about systems in cars. Most of the time they are trying to ream your ass and make a buck off you.

I've had tons of friends go to best buy, and the guys will be like "well, its gonna cost $50 more to bypass the stock amp" I mean come on.. $50 for bypassing a stock amp? A 4 year old can do it.

Hey Luke did you get an adapter for the deck around it so its flush, I have had problems with this, I looked for one every one said on wasnt available for the G I was told use the pathfinder I tried it did not look right so I had to fabricate my own with PLEXI glass in black still have some tweeking to do so it looks flush & stock.

Might want to ask chris what he is going to use I have been told several kits put together will do it but several kits will run up the price too!

Old trick I learned in the army, ok well in the install bay. This works on yoda's and nissans, so shouldn't be a problem with the G's.... (my 200sx has double din like the G and I did it on it). Ok first, you know how they say to rip off the trim ring for the jap cars? ERRRRRR, keep it on there, line it up with the back of the plastic dash piece, normally you can find a hole in each side of the radio to mount into the stock bracket, then I carefully drill and use two small screws elsewhere. That way some of the radio's trim ring is able to be seen when it is installed, it takes up that nasty empty space :-)

Best of luck
Oh - and bypassing the factory amp, hey come on they gotta make their money, and show me a four year old that can and does do it and I'll kiss their ass... hehehe Many people can DO something, but it's doing it RIGHT that counts :-P

Chris
