cd player and peugeot 206

I have just bought a new cd player for my 206 and want to take out the standard fitted tape player/radio. I have also got the adapter thing to make the new cd player the correct size.
I am very sorry for a very newbie question but how do i take the current tape player out of the 206? I can't seem to find a way. It has two small holes drilled into it but they don't appear to be screws at the bottom or anything. I would be grateful for some help, havn't been able to find an answer anywhere else on the web.

thanks!

I don't have any answers for you on what to do. It should be relatively simple. Just remove the fascia from the front and look for the screws on the side. But I don't know how they assemble outside the states. You might find help on this site though.

Hope that helps.

RE: 206 Tape player removal

It's really quite easy, all you need is something long (40mm min) and thin to fit down into those holes. I used a 2.5mm allen key. See pic below.

Simply push your long thin thing into the hole (one at a time) until it stops then simply push a little further and it should release the clips.
NOTE you don't need a lot of force!
I recommend wrapping some tape around your long thin thing 35mm up from the end. If the tape goes into the hole past the front of the radio then you've gone too far!

When the clips have been released then you can remove the radio by putting a couple of fingers inside the tape slot and pulling on the unit. Again not a lot of force is required, if you've released the clips properly then the unit should just slide out.

Question 206 Tape player removal

Hi, Im having trouble removing the CD player from my W plate (2000) 206. Iv read your post suggesting using allen keys but i had no success. Does this mean someone has tried to remove it before but have pushed their long thin thing in too far? Have you got any ideas why im having trouble? Thanks for your time!
