Re: insurance

is the $325 a month just for the first month or is that going to be the rate every month, becasue when i switched from my truck to my WRX my first month was twice as much as my normal monthly payment is now

Re: insurance

You're going from a 6 year old Chevy truck to a brand new performance sedan, did you expect the insurance to go down?

Re: insurance

Woah! I don't pay that much for both me and my wife (not even half!), and I'm not yet twenty-five, either.

Yeah, but even being under 21 can make a huge difference, not to mention an traffic citations or accidents in the past.

My bro-in-law pays more insurance than me, but he has more moving violations in a year than I have had in 10 years, and I have a 2003 Impreza and he has a '96 Breeze.

Re: insurance

Dude, that's ridiculously expensive.
I'm over 25, married, have comprehensive, collison, and everything with 1 million umbrella liability coverage, and it's about $1800 for '04 WRX...
You must have some shady driving history. It might not be a good idea for you to have a fast car--you'll most likely pick up more citations or you'll kill someone or yourself.

Re: insurance

Hey Catas kiddo...
Just in case you didn't realize, I have been under 25 before, you know. I wasn't paying $325/month. It's not the age. (well it has a lot to do with it, but that ain't the main reason here). Especially if that's "basic" coverage, as he puts it. Keep it up, your spelling and grammar is marginally improving.

theres some good points here. i need to fix that insurance price to $250/mth or around 1200/6mths. It is still quite ridiculous. i guess it is because im in the younger crowd and for the information, my record is clear but for a speeding ticket(72 in a 55.) The state farm rep said that it is as high as it is because of kids wrecking fast, fancy cars which makes the company have to pay for them. sucks, its still cloudy of what is going to happen.

Re: insurance

thats why my insurance is 200. im 18, and drive a not only fast but turbo car. its just the way things are :/ the more expensive the car, the more insurance is. the only good thing about the younger people having wrx's and evo's is that they are 4 door, and have amazing saftey features. thats the only thing we really get a break on.

i do have a speeding ticket (72 in a 60), but for some reason i dont think the cop turned in his papers. i didnt have the cash to pay it then so he said i had 30 days. so....its been 2 months now and i still havent paid it. i havent heard anything from the local PD, and ive had my lisence run 3 times in the last month and they havent said anything. they ran it the first time for an accident i had where i wrecked my previous car (not at fault), they ran it the second time when i got a ticket for my step father leaving the gate open and my 10mo old pit bull got out and was playing with another dog down the street, and then when i went to pay the ticket for my dog they ran it through the police database at the police department through the main computers. noone said anything about it. im stupid for not paying it....but i dont need a lecture guys .

Re: insurance

Turbo shouldn't make a difference in your insurance. The things that count towards insurance are:

# of doors
# of seats w/belts
# of airbags
HP rating (but only after something like 300hp)
alarm systems
replacement price of vehicle
age
tickets
accidents

PS- I'm 24, and I've got one ticket. 24y/o males get the same rates as 18y/o males, usually. 25 is the changing point (6 more months, man, can't wait). My insurance is still hella low.
