clear on the front, and back???????

ok...couple of you have probably saw my altezza and clear taillight bashing remarks in other posts and were bothered, or astounded that not everyone likes them. Either way, lets open it up, why do you have them?? what sense does it make?? and dont say "its the look man", because its not. Real car guys n gals will tell ya, since the dawn of internal combustion, taillights have been red. Red means stop. (I know the bulbs are red.) Are you trying to make the back of your car look like the front?? you trying to fool us?? No wonder the "No replacement for your sisters displacement"'s wont give us the respect even after we blast em with a 10 at 130, because we look like tools doing it with our tacky rides. Theyre doin it, and doin it in style with a nice clean car, were doin it, and they dont even see it cause they were laughin at our taillights...or big ass wings, but thats another story (you seen those god awful aluminum pieces of crap guys are dry wall screwing onto their trunks!!)...anyways, im writing this rant to open up the floor, only intelligent answers will be replied to, i think those of us who dont like seriously want to know what motivates those who do...enlighten us, and keep poppin those 10s...

Clear on front, amber sidemarkers, red at back.

just becuase you dont like them doesnt mean everyone does also. if someone likes the way they look on their car and they like the style or whatever, then let them do what they want. They are not rice in anyway, and its their car not yours, so let them do what they want. Im in the process of buying some CF altezzas for my rex cuz i like how they look.

Dont get me wrong, im all for the "different strokes for different folks", to each their own, thats why we drive civics and crxs right, because we want them...im asking the question why????...i see soo many beat up imports with all these tacky mods all over em, why not take the money you saved by not buying these and getta body job and make your ride nice and clean...i guess im just ol school and like the clean look...i rarely read import mags because theyre cluttered up with these cluttered up cars (fast n furious fame) and it drives me nuts...i read the articles and when they talk of future mods they say "clear taillights, spoiler, skirt kits...etc"...wheres the power to lug all this junk around....what happened to the dreams of turbos and b18c's??...what happened to spankin some domesticrap ass??...its kinda sad when im only 22 and the scene has gotten past me...it makes me sad to read the ads looking for a lightened flywheel, or high compression pistons to get that 150hp/litre and all i see are wings n things...maybe im just reading the wrong stuff...i remember reading this article about this civic, he started off right, intake, basic bolt ons, but then he sprayed the whole engine bay with that speckle splatter paint...what the hell??...

I was going to get a set of clear taillights so I could make them solid red. I don't like the look of all clear taillights on a CRX. And I hate the look of Alteezas.

Yeah i don't like them either. I'm all for jdm looks. Anyways..yeh i do like a clean look also. I'm all for old skool civics. Still i don't like flaming on ppl that gets them altezzas or whatever. Crxlvr is rite though...its there car and let them do what they want? I'm not into spoilers and bodykits and shit like that. Its all about ppl's taste. Everyone is different and should respect that also. You know what though...i got flamed on when ppl or my friends actually said that well i like looks rather than speed. So i said to them ...."keep the rice in the bowl" LOL. Anyways..they were like...well atleast gurls will pay attention to the guys that goes for looks. Well i didn't know that they have to have a car to help them get gurls? Yeh well u get my point rite? Ppl have different taste ..so leave it at that?

Yeah, I'm with you guys - jdm all the way. At least for our cars. I think some altezzas look nice on different kinds of cars, depending on color (altezza on white car is odd). My friend has some on his eclipse gst, and they really give a different look to the car. I wish the CF look ones were out when he got those, but they werent. I try to keep the amount of chrome stuff to a bare minimum (or 0), at least for a civic, some of that stuff just doesnt belong. I'd rather have a sleeper any day than to appear to look fast with exterior mods. All that brings is unecessary flack on the roads. Later. Keep up the good work.

its like i said, some people like speed and the clean look, but others like show and dressed up.

so its upto the driver and not the crowd surrounding it

Personally, I think Altezza lights belong on... Altezzas. They look okay on certain applications, but generally I think factory lights are just fine. I don't mind seeing them on cars that look clean and whatnot. Its their money, they can spend it on bling-bling stuff like that and not get down the strip or around the course any faster. Whatever makes em happy. I enjoy both racing-oriented cars and show-cars, and I am glad to see the car modification community growing. I think we should celebrate the fact that more and more people are discovering the great hobby of fixing up cars. Sure, they may not spend their money on stuff that YOU think they should, but we all have the common bond of loving cars. However you choose to celebrate your hobby is your choice.

Someone stated that altezzas only belong on altezzas. i guess that should be a true statement, but if you have S-type Tails or Red/clears on any type of 4th gen, then its the same deal, aint none of these cars come like that. So its all upto what the person wants.
