Cool Yowsahs

the d16 under your hood is the best responding motor to the gude package. It gains somewhere in the neighborhood of 49 hp with that package. the sohc is not a joke. Rather then pulling it out I am suping it up for nos for now and then I am ordering a brand new sohc vtec and greddy turbocharging it. Lovely. So when I pop my hood and there jaw drops when they see no engine swap. Other then that mine is pretty quick, cant wait to take it to the track.

take your head to get ported and polished at a machine shop that does them. You should be charged around 400.00 or so dollars, and should gain a good 12 hp from it depending on headers, exhaust. That is the most bang for your buck, also the zex sohc gains around 12hp and 10lbs of tourque with i/h/e already in there. first I am going to get mine ported then cam then NOS....muahahahha. only reason I say port and polish is cause a dx with an aem intake and ported head stays right beside me, you have any idea how agravating that is. thinking he has nothing done to his engine and he stays right beside you in a sohc non vtec. errr. well that was when we both only had intakes. good luck

Your best bet on the D16 is a Greddy turbo. You'll run mid-14s or so...enough to hang with most stock V8 Mustangs. Nitrous is ok but keep the shot small, since the rods aren't the best. If you have a D16Y8 ('96-'97) the rods are even worse. You can swap the head for a D16Y8 if you want...have that p&p'ed...the combustion chamber is better on the newer D16s.
