Cool Finished: Porsche Carrera GT Coupe Concept

This is my concept of a Carrera GT Coupe that I would love to see Porsche build. Hopefully I have disguised the Modena roof to where it looks like a natural Porsche design.

I chose Finisher's light gunmetal for the color because silvers and grays are very Germanic which gives it a factory look. The interior is painted with Testors dark red which is kind of a brick red, Dragon black and I used Tamiya AS12 for the alum parts and the wheels.

Attaching the roof was fairly straight-forward in that the contours of the roof matched the dimensions of the CGT very well. The roof line is very low like a supercar should be and the hatch is integrated into the spoiler with the cut lines that mimic a whale tail.

I couldn't use all the kit roll bars so I just used the black inner one and had to lower it for the roof. The stock head rest were used and instead of a window behind them there is a screen. The rest of the car is stock except I used MV lenses for head lights.

I painted the brakes with Testors Exhaust metalizer because this car has carbon ceramic brakes, the calipers are Acryl Guards Red.

The kit is very nice except I don't like the way the windshield is a snap fit, the pressure distorts the area around the snap pins.

I'm very happy with the result except the hatch doesn't open and close without messing up the rear window that I made from Dura-Lar so it will remain closed.

Re: Finished: Porsche Carrera GT Coupe Concept

Athough I think you've done an excelent job converting it into a coupé, I couldn't disagree more on the colour..eheh That's only a personal opinion! Dont' take this the wrong way The paintjob is fenomenal (as usuall with you eeheh), but I'd do it black. I find the metallic particles a little too big and off scale, but man....It's absolutely stunning!
I hope I can pull that with my little mazda

Best regards,
Pedro.

You should send some pictures to Porsche. I think they´d be impressed. In my eyes it looks better than the real car. The color is something different but supportive in showing an aggressive sports car. This car ain´t about sweet colors... it´s about speed, which is truly shown.

Re: Finished: Porsche Carrera GT Coupe Concept

if I didn't see the progress thread, I would certainly ask what kit is this. Fantastic job, but i'm also with petter. A different color could bring your work up. Anyway, that paint job is awsome!

Congratulations on this fine transformation!
