most likely not, if the product info for a handheld isnt on their website then thy dont, handhelds just probably dont have processing power and a lot of ppl dont use them

I remember once I saw a link form a company that sells an adaptor that connects the ALDL from your computer to a handsprint and some other handhelds, but I don't know how good or reliable it is. I think fritz put it up long time ago in PH.

All of these companies make an adapter box and Palm OS software to turn your PDA into an OBD II scanner.

But I know of no aftermarket ECU that interfaces with a Palm instead of a windows laptop. I honestly don't see any reason why they would.

I think OBDII started in late 1995 or beginning of 1996 (correct me if I am wrong).

Fritz, I am not sure what system does my car use (95 civic ex) or if it even has a ALDL since I don't have an electronic manuel. Do you kown if there is anything similar to the PDA for it?

I know Snap-on has a very good scanner, but it's very expensive and design mainly for shop use.

Personally, palm pc's just dont have the processing power to handle some programs and if it did it would take a long time for you to tune your engine. So do what i did, just get a "hondata" system and a cheap laptop, I would reccommend a PIII 500mhz w/128mb ram or better. Plus, the system is a stand alone, so you dont have to buy numerous systems to take place of one. Go to www.hondata.com You wont regret it! By far the best management sys you can buy on the market at a resonable price!

I believe you are correct. Every car sold from Jan 1st, 1996 was required to be OBD II compliant, even if it was built in 1995. Some manufacturers began their OBD II programs early (to help get out the bugs) and even sold some OBD II cars at the end of 1994 - this includes Honda.

The easiest way to tell is to look on the bottom of your hood for an OBD II sticker. It's required to be there if you have OBD II.

If you have OBDII - any OBDII scanner should be able to read the code numbers (the magic of a standard). The car-specific ones will usually give you text information as well (i.e. it will interpret the code numbers).

If you have OBD I, there are scanners for that as well, you'll just have to look a bit harder. And with the lack of sensors on an OBD I car, it may not really be a worthwhile investment (IMHO).
