car dies when I make a sharp turn
I have recently bought a 1980 Pontiac phoenix with automatic transmission. I have performed full maintenance on the transmission mechanism & replaced the power steering box "where the oil goes".
The car works fine , however when I make a sharp turn "near 180 degrees" the engine dies. Advise please.... |

Re: car dies when I make a sharp turn
probably the fuel pump not sending enough fuel to the carb so that when it sloshes around in the bowl, nothing comes out. could be a problem with the bowl itself though.

Re: car dies when I make a sharp turn
I'd look first to a float setting. If the float is set wrong, you don't get enough fuel in the bowl and it sloshes away from the jets in turns. Fuel pump is also a wise choice, but it would probably show up as poor WOT performance first, but its always a possibility.
