can a trunk lid from a 99-00 civic 2door(si,ex,dx) fit my 2dr 97 civic ex.

My Story:
Some fucker with no insurance, and expired drivers lisence rear-ended me and did $3,000 damage to my rear end. he even dented my magnaflow muffler, and smashed my euro lights, which prolly deserved to be smashed anyways, according to everyone else on this planet, lol. All of the damage i have to pay for because i only have liability insurance, and i doubt the guy is gonna plead guilty for hitting me, afterall hes a fucking EX-Con who just gotta outta jail.

So im fucked, im finding cheap used parts from Ebay and salvage part stores to make my restoration a little easier. Luckily i have a extra buddy club rear bumper at home, i can put that on to save me 200 for an oem honda bumper.

Even if you just have liability insurance coverarge, you should also have uninsured motorist coverage. This would fall under an uninsured motorist claim, not collision. I'd check with ur agent before you go paying out of pocket. Just becuase you don't have collision doesn't mean you can't get it fixed...I don't think I am ever seen anyone who's not covered for uninsured motorist, even if they "only have liabilty and not collsion, etc." Look into it, you might end up saving $3000, and only having to pay the uninsured motorist claim deductable.

im gonna get the decision by friday, hopefully. All insurance companies are shiesty(even good the good ones like mine, stateFarm). Ive been bitching them out, and i will continue till i get my money. I got an aunt who works for firemans fund, another insurance company, and she is a fighter that knows the in and outs of insurance claims. So i got some help there. Theres about a 90 percent chance that im gonna get money from my insurance.

If this all works out and i get 3000 bucks ill be able to hook up my car fat. I can get all the damaged parts off ebay, and install the shit that i can, and let the body shop take care of the frame pulling, big dents, and paint. The plan is that ill have about 1000 bucks leftover which will go towards some tein basics and a decent set of 15"s.

oh yeah, and i found out that all 2dr 96-00 civic trunks are universal.

......i fucking hate body kits, they're a bitch to fit on. If you seen on my other posts, im having trouble with my side skirts, and i just bought a r34 front bumper that has to be cut and shaved. For heavens sake, i had to take out the front bumper reinforcement to get the thing to fit on closely.

Unfortunetly, you have to remove the front bumper reinforcement to get most kits to fit correctly. it's something the manufacturers don't normally tell you. It is an issue with Kits I have never liked, that is for sure. I have seen some people leave it but cut into it just enough to get the kit to fit...claiming @ least they got something then. However, when it's cut into, it really can't do what it's suppose to do to the same extent...seems like a bad idea to cut into it (almost worse an idea than removing it like they tell you to) plus you don't have a good one if u deicde to go back to stock.

Anyways, yeah, most body kits are shitty and don't fit right. Plus almost all require removel of the front reinforment, as I said above and you found out.

At any rate, I am glad to see you may finally get some $$ for what happened. Just curious, are they going to pay out under an Uninsured motorist claim? That is what I would think it should be going under, since he was uninsured when he hit you. Even if you did have collison, it still really should be an uninsured motorist claim. Keep us updated!

until now, this is all i know. Tommorow i might get a desicion if i get the money or not. To my knowledge the other driver was without a current drivers license and uninsured. The car that he was driving however, could be or could not be insured. Thats the big deal that State Farm is making. because if they are going to pay me money, they would rather go after the insurance company of the other car instead of hunting down this guy who hit me all stormtrooper-esqe about it . The claim is under uninsured motorist, and State Farm is still trying to dick me over jsut because I didnt have full coverage. BTW, if i do get the money, im going full coverage, no more of this fucking BS and unnessecery worrying ive going though since i got hit on the 17th. If they dont make a decision tommorow im pretty sure they are going to wait for the police report to make a final desicion, which will take 2 months(i live smack in the middle of chicago, thats why it takes so long). Ill keep this thread alive with updates whenever something goes down.

Well, seeing as the other guy was uninsured and you obviously have un-insured motorist coverage since they are considering it under this claim, the HAVE to give you the money, no 2 ways around it. He hit you and was un-insured, un-insured motorist coverage is almost always included when you have only liability. Even if they choose to DENY the claim, they have a legel obligation to PAY YOU.

Do not let them yank you around. They will most likly try and tank you around and give you al the BS reasons to deny the claim. The fact is they have to pay your un-insured claim, if the guy did not have coverage. If they keep yanking you around, an attorney on your side can really help things get settled the way they should have in the first place. Many insurence companies will try and stall and give people all sorts of messed up (and half the time un-true/bs) reasons as to why they can't won't do this or pay this claim. The reality is most people, when confronted by insurence hard-ball...get sick of the stress and length of time it takes and give up or give in the the bad offer insurence is making. Stick it out and make them pay you fairly, even if it takes a long time. Don't give in to their BS offers and stories. He was un-insurend, you were insured...it goes under an un-insured motorsit claim...as long as you have a police report number for the incedent, they have to pay you. Keep fighting them if you have to until the do.

faxed the police report to my insurance company yesterday, and the desicion was made. My crash was covered by the uninsured motor vehicle policy. I bring in my car tuesday to get another estimate, then ill get the a check for that amount. Woohoo. Man since october 17th ive been a wreck thinking about the future of my car. Hopefully with the people i know i can get my car fixed for about half the amount and buy some new wheels and suspension. Eckoman_pdx thanks for your advice.
