Anyone tried this for drying?

Has anyone tryed this sqeegee thing for drying the car? I seen them around. Any one know how affective they are and if they leave any scratches or anything, because it would be fast to dry the car.

i have a rule that i go by whenever i see some new fandangled device out there in the world...

there are three things that every new product out there is trying to accomplish.

1- do it cheaper
2- do it faster
3- do it better

this squeegee is interesting, it may be fast, it may be cheaper (buy once- many times of use) however it may not be better. i wouldn't doubt that the squeegee would scratch your paint. to scratch the car- the only thing that needs to happen is to have an errant grain of dirt that's on the paint that will get trapped between the rubber and the paint... you pull on it- and then it's scratched.

only way around this: you THOROUGHLY wash your car with NO grains of dust/dirt.

i'm always in a rush so i just do those spray and drive car wash deals... i never take a sponge to the paint. (probably should though)

which brings to mind-

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO WASH THE CAR??????

BEST WAX TO USE?

I have one of those. What I do is clean the car off nice w/ hot water and soap and a sponge and when i'm sure all the dirt is off the car I spray it off with a hose and then squeegee it down.

Ahh it works alright.
It helps when your drying because you can squeegee most of the water off so your towel doesn't get as wet when you go back over it.

ACK! Dont use a towel!! Buy yourself a Chamois (?) natural or synthetic, WAY better than a towel, plus it doesnt leave a bunch of lint...

yeh, with a towel, you will have lint on your car so use a chamos if you got one. the more you rub the more static buildup you get and more lint its gonna attract.

man, get that rubbery thing away from me. hehehe. i would only use that on windows.

I have one and I think it works great. When you first use it your gonna hear this errrie noise that sounds like your scratching your car but your NOT. It takes time to get the right angle and preasure but once you do it works great. I use it to remove the bulk of water on my car and I use a chamois to detail and get into the parts the squeegee cant. It take half the time out of drying my car and I dont have to ring out the chamois as much. Basicly it doesnt replace a chamois but it makes the job a lot easyer.
