Unhappy Waving the white flag

Well everyone, i think im calling it quits. I have the RS up on jackstands and was getting ready to replace the front lower control arms, when i found the real problem, the rear mounts for the control arms snapped where they mount to the K member. in order to fix this ill have to pull the engine, and the K member, and either have it repaired or replaced. then put it all together again, just to let her go. With me not working, being away at school, and having the IROC also on my shoulders, i just dont think i have it in me to dive into this project again haveing JUST finished rebuilding her. but i cant bare to send her to the junkyard when the rest of her is in such great shape.

So it stands like this. Is there anyone interested in buying her as is right now. The overall car is in great shape, interior is carmine red and extreamly well taken care of. the engine is a jasper rebuilt unit with 30,000 miles or so on it and shes always been maintained with GM parts.

the negatives are....

-needs rear hatch glass
-needs driver window glass
-needs repairs to K member
-might need lower control arms (have them, used, rusty, but undamaged)
-needs front antisway bar (have larger trans am unit ready to bolt in)
-needs E-brake cable
-needs front end bodywork, nothing major, a little panel straitaning and some paint should fix it.
-needs trans pan re-seal

also, the car has 2.73 gears in it now, but i have a torsen posi with 3.23 gears on it that i will sell along with the car to whoever wants it. package deal though.

so if anyone is interested, and is able to come get the car, (youll need a trailer as the front tires are pointing outwards) drop me a PM, the price is negociable.

Hey you know you can buy tubular k members for a couple hundred bucks and you can get them to use the stock suspension and change them with the engine in the car!!

Don't pull the engine..... build a 2X4 frame set-up to hold the engine up while you drop the k-member out the bottom! About the effort level of doing a clutch job.

Re: Waving the white flag

yeah, thought about doin the tubular K member deal, but its just i dont know when id fit in in timewise, and to be honest, id rather be putting time and money into the IROC, cus i havent really touched her sense i pulled the interior out a few months ago, because ive been focusing on the RS. but i suppose the option GTstang threw out is something i didnt think of. if i get her fixed though, no more "one last drives", im givin my dad the keys and running away before something bad happens.

If you decide to go the route I told you let me know. I'll show you pics of the cheap set-up I used for holding the engine during the clutch job in my SHO. Have to drop the engine cradle out the bottom to do the clutch!!!!!

I also did the same thing for my mustang when I did a tubular k-memeber install.

Re: Waving the white flag

how much would it cost if you had a shop do it. if you dont want to do it then have someone else do it. if its fixed, you can tack on the price it costed to your selling price and sell the car for more, also it will sell faster if its all ready to put on the road.
