Re: Are there many 1/43rd builders here?

Seems like there are more 1/43 subjects being shown here lately. That happens to be my main area of interest in building.

Count me in as one too. But like my 1/24 kits...I have more waiting to be built than actually finished.

I have built a couple of 1/43 scale models but in Die-Cast. I Find 1/24 scale plastic more interesting

Count me among those - though it is mainly my GF who likes building them! I think the numbers may start to grow as long as Heller/Airfix keep improving there 1/43rd rally cars - they even have rollcages now! Don't get me wrong, they are nowhere near as detailed as the resin/white metal 1/43rds, nor 1/24th kits, but they are a lot cheaper and not a bad starting point for young modellers with little patience or cash. Especially if Reji increase their range of 1/43rd decals.

Funny, 1/43rd kits seem to be at opposite ends of the spectrum - the starter plastic kits of Heller/Airfix, and the highly detailed and challenging resin or white metal kits of Renaissance/Provence Moulage/Racing 43 etc.

Grant.

I used to build a lot of 1/43 kits before i started building 1/24s. You still see some mainly in the motorsports section here at AF.

I switched to mostly 1/43rd due to the diverse subject matter. Also, as a collector and builder, these little gems just seem to hold their value better than the plastic build ups.

Re: Are there many 1/43rd builders here?

for me, i am building 1:43 plastic kits because it is much cheaper~~
the scale is a challenge but hopefully i will get used to it
another reason for building 1:43 kits is that i can practise the painting/coloring of the body~ as well as decals at a much cheaper vost

I want to get into 1/43 because there are not many 1/24 Audi. The only thing that's keeps me from doing it is that it will look funny beside my 1/24 collection.

Re: Are there many 1/43rd builders here?

I don't think they'll look funny with other scales. I collect and build whatever I want from 1/87 to 1/8 and display them together, even have a few airplanes (in different scales) but that's just me... I say build what you like, period. - Mark

I build some but mainly on F1. McLaren and Benetton collection are my favorite, just love the color scheme. As for road car, I hardly build but only Koenig by BBR and some concept car by ABC Brianza. I not skill enough to do Bosica and Feeling 43, but my friend do.
