Re: how much to keep up with a ls1

I would go with a fresh 383 engine and probably a miniram depending on what rpm range you want the car to perform the best in.

I would say for a nice engine and some goods to help put that power to the ground your looking at maybe 8k???

Of course you could always just pickup an LS1 and drop that in there

Buy a Mustang

Sorry I just had to it was too tempting.... some gears and and spray would do it. Or you could just buy an LT1 or an LS1 and put it into your 3rd Gen and let the lighter car do the rest.

Re: how much to keep up with a ls1

well, if you got the 350, run vortec heads and SDPC baseplate, xtream energy cam, headers, stall and gears.

depending on where ya shop, that would run about......

500, 400, 350, 300, 150, 200 = 1900 bucks. and youd be running around 300-350hp, with the improoved drivetrain, you could keep up with a stock LS1. and thats worse case senario. you could probly spend less, primarily by getting junkyard vortecs instead of new ones.

Re: how much to keep up with a ls1

nope, fourth gen camaros are heavier still. the camaros gradually got heavier every year, its an odd twist.
