Exclamation rain splashing on the windshield

When it has been raining and i drive through a puddle instead of pushing the water outwards, the rain splashes up onto my windshield completely covering it making hard for me to see. I think this is dangerous and i don't know why it is doing that. Ihave a 1997 4runner with 16" wheels.

How deep of puddles are you driving through? id the wind blowing in your direction? this is not uncommon, many vehicles, especially trucks will do this.

Re: rain splashing on the windshield

Do you have extensions on your wheel wells to make the openings wider? If not, these may help.

Re: rain splashing on the windshield

This is normal. Your tires hit the puddle and push the water out and up. Then your truck runs into the water. The bigger and deeper the puddle. The more water/mud on the windshield.
