got a lexus, R.I.P. BMW...

1991 LS400. A nice car and all, but it can never compare to my beloved e30. I'll always miss that little red BMW. I already do and its still out in the driveway... I just hope when the time comes I can find another one just like it

Then why sell the car if you were so happy with it?

And didn't you only get the BMW not too long ago?

It got totaled, and although its still driveable, its not worth repairing. I've had it for over a year.

yep, looks like parking is gonna be a whole lot harder from now on... I also went from a 5-speed to a slushbox, unfortunately.

Re: got a lexus, R.I.P. BMW...

well i suppose if the E30 was your first car and you have real sentimental value attached to it but....

I had a E30 318i a couple years back, and got to test-drive a Toyota Celsior (japanese equivalent of the LS400 with a bit more options) some time during that period. It was like a rocketship compared to the E30, there was just no comparison. Unless you're planning to re-power the E30 with something that actually provides acceleration, and replace the interior with something designed for a human , and not a monkey, I'd stick with the Lexus...

EDIT: Now that i've checked your profile, i see you had a 325i.. The six does go a lot better than the four, but still the Lexus is a totally different class of car...

E30 318 was my first car, I liked a lot of things about it I just wish I could have kept it running.

The big Lexus seems like a bit of an odd car for someone like you to have. They are a bit chalk and cheese, if you don't mind me saying so. I would have stuck to BMW.

Don't get me wrong, I like Lexus'es (Or Lexi, in the case of Alan Partrige) but BMW have the drivers edge. Do you think that you lexus will last, or with the desire for bevarian beauty overwhelm you?

Re: got a lexus, R.I.P. BMW...

It is a bit of an odd car for me to have; I only plan to drive it as long as necessary to find BMW. Its only to buy some time to look, a search that has so far come up with nothing but worn out interiors, leaky coolant hoses, and shady european car dealerships

I only settled for this lexus because it was a good car in nice condition for a good price...

Tank: This wasn't my first car. I drove a 1988 Acura Legend before it. And whats with the comment about the interior? I really like it. Oh, and I was saving for an engine transplant... now that'll have to go to the new BMW fund. So much for my plan to get started on a track car...
