Re: painting altezza's

I think Shpyder has done that before. In my opinion it looked really good. Try looking through some old threads, you may find some pics. I would go for it.

Re: painting altezza's

thanks. Well, basically, there are so many altezzas out there. Just pick the one you like, spray testors on it, and your done! I personally liked my own ones, with 3 circles in them, but TYC makes ones with 2 ovals, and another company has 2 regualr circles, etc, etc.

Re: painting altezza's

just cleaned them real well with a moist rag. placed them on a stand at chest height. sprayed 3 coats in a continuous motion left to right....dried over night....nothing fancy, but the result was aweseom...NO airbubbles!

Re: painting altezza's

you spray the clear part not the inside. so basically 3-5 light coat of transparent red and then for a better looking light add 2-4 coats of clear. use and air brush better tho.

Re: painting altezza's

actually, i didnt even add a clear coat.
ive had them for 2 months on my car now, in sun and rain, and not a single faded spot. its more simple than most beleive! just make sure you paint them properly...the first pair on my spyder were PERFECT....looked like factory stuff. the second ones i put on ebay were a lot worse with tons of bubbles...

Hey Shpyder I sent you a pm about the tails before i saw this thread so just disregard it.

Anyhoo, I have done more research on this than any sane person should do. I have a collection of hundreds of pics and many websites. I can tell you one thing: If you want the best posible results use red transparent vinyl. Here's one site to show you how it looks: http://members.cox.net/rsxmotorsports/

If anyone really wants more info on this ( and I do mean MORE) I can put up all the links. I cant get the pics up though, sorry.

Re: painting altezza's

Actually, I did not jack anyone. I made it clear that the lights were used, and that I had just sprayed them over with testors. told them exactly what they were getting, and what i did and how i did it.

I'm not trying to talk shit man. I just thought it was funny. Good job on the lights though.
