Tail light mods II: new pics.

Nothing fancy, just worked on something someone said about that candy apple transparent enamel paint from Testors. Got those really cheap and shiny chrome altezzas, did 2 coats of the can. Turned out very nice...they look like stock lamps. but crystalline... you can see the 3 circles inside the red. I thought that maybe the paint would have an adverse affect on lighting, turned out light intensity wasnt affected at all.

Next up soon: stuffing 4" hyper red truck LEDs into those circles .

Sweet job on those. If you can't go all out with the huge LED's you want, you can still do the LED bulb replacements and get a good effect.

thanks joe. the best part is, they look almost stock...usually only DSMers would notice the difference when inlit (lit, everyone knows )

Yep, you can usually type something like "LED 194" and find tons of stuff. I would be willing to bet autozone or schucks/kragen carries most types in the ricer section.

wait...194? So its 194 for our cars? I mailed the seller some time ago and he said; "Hi; You Mitsubishi uses 1157 which is cross to the 2057 that came in it, Thanks, John." .. whats all that about?

yeah thats pretty sweet dude.. i like the semi stock apparence.... will definatly fool the untrained eye.. i got some spinning led tail bulbs out back my car... but i got those altezzas that have the lenses kinda angled and they dont show up that well... maybe i should try something like that on those to tone em down a bit...

oh and the leds are for 1157... but there really for like a civic or some bs.. our cars are the 2057 i think.. only thing i noticed is the spinners i got are a lil dimmer than the other two regular bulbs in it but they twisted right in so..

haha good job man! I was the one that told some dude to get the candy apple paint. Nice work! If someone had a blue car then they can prolly get a blue transparent color and still have the red showing brake lights haha

Did you seal the altezzas, if not you might want to do that so they don't get fucked up. Just take some silicone or caulk and seal the altezzas up

Seal? I never opened them..i just painted them with transparent candy red enamel spray. I'll keep that in mind though, for next time, when I work on installing the truck LEDs into them.
