Spreading the word

Hi people, I have recently started my own car talk forum based in Fredonia NY, and I am not too sure how get the word out.
I put up flyers around campus, but I need to spread the word online as well, how can I do this?
I need some tips. Thanks

Just A tiny hint on keeping your membership once they start to flood in......don't let them use your bandwidth to promote their own car forums
