gunze mr color
hey guys. i was wondering if you guys know the shelf life of the gunze lacquers. i have quite a bit stored up for the past 2 years now but am not ready to crack open a bottle to use it yet (i was told that once you open the bottles, they tend to dry out as each bottle was meant to be consumed at the time it was opened). the stuff is a bit expensive for me thus i would like to use them up if at all possible.
thanks! cal |

you can try to use Gunze thinner (other thinner won't work) to thin the paint or those dry-out.
I have some Gunze stored for 3 yrs, most of them are dried and in crack like potato chips.

I know Lacquers are quick drying but... HELL, even Revlon know how to make bottles that close tight enough !!! I hope their life on the shelf are greater than just 2 years !? If you're afraid... try to put them in a low light/heat environment. I don't know Gunze but if their bottles don't close tight after one application... where are we going ??

Well...
I mostly use the Metal and clear colors, I just add thinner as needed. Many of my colors are ten years old too.

Re: gunze mr color
Thanks guys. That's really good to hear. I have a pretty big box of those paints in the closet but haven't had the opportunity to use them as I have gone and switched over to nail polishes and automotive paints. I'm sure I'll go back to them eventually when I purchase a new airbrush. Thanks for the insight guys!
