Wink 2000 Mustang Spark Plugs and Fuel Filter

Forgive my question! I'm a female who wants to change her 2000 Mustang spark plugs and fuel filter. Can someone tell me where they are located, or better yet, if someone has a picture and can point them out - that would be greatly appreciated!!

Any major steps/processes I should be aware of?

Thanks,
A girl who wants to fix her own pony!

This is not in response to your question but I noticed your handle "dryheat". It's nice to see someone else from AZ!

Re: 2000 Mustang Spark Plugs and Fuel Filter

Welcome!

To find your spark plugs, follow the thick wires down over both sides of the motor, if you have a V-6 there are 6 of them, V-8 there are 8. Twist the big rubber plug then pop it off, then remove the old plug with the proper socket.

As for the fuel filter, it's right beside the gas tank on the passenger side. Crawl under and look for a small can in the line...

The fuel filter is under the car just above the rear end. You will need a spring lock tool to get it disconnected from the lines. You can pick that up at Kragen or Autozone.

Re: 2000 Mustang Spark Plugs and Fuel Filter

the sparkplugs well atleast on my 96 gt same motor but different heads and intake if urs is a gt. they are on either side and thick black wires or blue in my case run to them they have a thick round t shaped head (ingnition wires). I had to remove my air intake (tube that goes to the metal shiny thing throttle body) then remove the spark plugs with a socket with 2 extensions it is way the hell down there pry 6 inchs down u lossen them and slowly pull them out then slowly put the new one in so u dont drop the plug in there. then tighten them, then put the wire back in.
