Its official, im a boost junkie

man this supercharger is just amazing, i love the power and speed of it. This is now the fastest car i have ever driven and boy is it fun to drive. Not to mention its a great sleeper. When i let the SC whine like a little girl, people just give me this look like wtf is in there? Its so great. . .ahh

everyone at the dealership was really impressed with the car. When i came in, only one service man was available, and he was helping someone else, so i went over to my car and popped the hood to check it out. Within 2 minutes like 5 mechanics are all standing around talking about it, even the guy who installed it. They were like you got a real sleeper there, a tiny rocket one of them called it. Prolly the funniest thing is the guy who took care of my bill and all was a 20 something kid not to much older than me. He told me he wrote down my liscense plate so if he ever saw me at the line he would know not to mess around. LoL i chuckled at that.

But damn boost is fun, so worth the money. Once my warranty experies on my car ill turn up the boost, but for now it will stay how it is. About 5 PSI that makes it very close to 200HP at the crank. Mind you this is out of my little 4 cylinder DOHC 2.4L engine with 150HP stock.

Watch out, a cavalier is gonna sleep ya!

That was the most pathetic race story I have ever heard.

J/K! Sounds like fun...what other mods did you have to do to safely supercharge it?

And yes, it sounds like a fun lil sleeper.

so far just an intake and upper engine mounts. The kit came with, supercharger, belt, pullies, 3100CC injectors, and all the extras to make it work. Gm also reflashed the OBDII computer so the air fuel ratios are on par.

I think if its the factory supercharger (the GM performace thingy) then it just bolts on with bo mods, maybe injectors. It sounds stupid but i think they designed the kit like that

Re: Its official, im a boost junkie

yes its the GM Performance parts supercharger, it pretty much is just a bolt on with an ECU reflash and bigger injectors. But everyone told me this is the one of the most reliable supercharges they have ever seen. Not to mention i get to keep my full bumper to bumper warranty . The kit was designed for my car, and was heavily tested and tuned by GM.

But damn i just love it, i love the looks people give me when they hear the supercharger whine. Like some guy in a mustang GT i kept seeing him look over at my car trying to figure out what the hell was going on. And watching a BMW 325i try and keep up with me was pretty funny as well.

god i love boost. . . its like i cream my jeans every time i hit the peddle.

Once a friend of mine drove his twin turbo Stealth RT out here when he came out to visit. Both of us have boosted cars but his cousin had never experienced boost. So he let him drive the Stealth and he called it a cargasm.

Once you get some boost it is very addictive. I know I missed having a turbo for the year and a half after my first GTC got totaled.

Re: Its official, im a boost junkie

sriously all i want to do is drive around in my car, its just so fun. Only thing is, now i dont redline as high as before. before i would redline around 7,000 RPMS, now its more like 6,000 RPMS. How much speed do i lose because of that? I heard that it had something to do with the vacum line.

They don't come with one, but you can have a factory kit installed after the fact.

Actually not really. He is running low boost right now to 200hp, and his car is significantly light on weight.

Huh?

The Cav isn't a Mopar. You can buy a Cav and then go to the dealer, order the kit, then have the dealer install it.
