Snap-loc
I just picked this Tamiya kit up on eBay because it was cheap, its a Lola T93/00 and uses a 'Snap-loc' system.
Heres a pic below: However i've never build anything that didnt require glue before, so im kinda worried that this might have been a mistake and could be a kit that is extremely easy or falls apart. Anyone built a Snap Loc Tamiya kit before, any info appreciated.

Re: Snap-loc
Convert it. Use the snaplock as and assistant, still use glue. Just pretend that its a regular kit.

Re: Snap-loc
Never had one before. How many parts does it have?

Re: Snap-loc
I've not built this kit but I have seen it completed. It would appear the "snap-lockness" doesn't get in the way of creating a good model, the accuracy, detail and everything Tamiya is renowned for is still there. If necessary add a bit of glue as you go.

Re: Snap-loc
I've seen a built one in Scale Auto magazine years ago, and it didn't look anything like what we call a snap kit (like those unassembled promos by AMT). Just look at the contents, and count the parts. It has almost as many parts as a glue kit. Snap kit makes the dry fit so much easier, and I wish all car model kits are like that.
When building one of these, just break the pegs, and glue the parts together. |
