eBay Dilemma

No big deal, I just found an eBay auction that is threatening to break my brain. So give me your opinions:

There is an item listed with a starting bid of $7.99. The retail value of this item is $25. The item was just listed, so it has most of 7 days to run.

Sound good so far? The item is also listed with the "Buy It Now" option for $15. If you're not familiar with it, the "Buy It Now" option will let you end the auction immedeatly by buying the item for the "Buy It Now" price. However, the "Buy It Now" option is only available until a regular bid is placed.

So, I want this item. It's a good deal at $15, but it's an even better deal at $7.99, and I'm cheap.

Should I:

A) Buy it now for $15.
B) Bid now. (what is the max I'm willing to pay? $15? Then why not buy it now?)
C) Wait and bid later in the auction. (same thing: what max bid?)
D) Something else???

E) STFU, it's only $7. LOL! :hehe:

"buy it now". If you say it's a deal at $15, then someone else could be thinking the same thing...

also, if your really confused...

you could just wait until the bidding time is almost over...
say it ends in 2 days and 8 hours...then simply wait 2 days, 7 hours 58 minutes, and then bid 1 dollar over the current bid...works everytime...unless of course someone thinks that 15 dollars is chump change and elects to "buy it now", in which case, your SOL...

In Conclusion...Buy it now!

The purpose in shopping e-bay is to get a deal. A lot of the stuff that has "buy it now" can be had for the same price at Walmart, plus you don't have to wait for the item to get to you broken, pay exobanent shipping and handling charges, and have no clue where to send it back when you recieve it broken.

Also, if you do find an item (like a car at a super low price, with no reserve) and it has 5 day etc.. left, don't bid now, because some other jackass is going to come in and overbid you just so they feel important.. next thing you know the "steal of a deal" you just found is no longer a steal. Wait until the closing minutes of the auction, and put in a good bid. If you get it -- great!-- if you don't, there will be another in a couple weeks or so.

my .02... thanks I feel better.
