Professor's Ignorance.

Now i've heard of demanding, but this is ridiculous!

I recieved a message bulletin from my professor today that states she wants us (the class) to read the first 8 chapters of our text for tomorrow. Is she insane?

The message was posted this morning. How the hell does she expect us to read and clearly remember all that is discussed in 218 pages, not to mention attend our 5 other classes and do the work for them all in 1 night?

And i pay 5 grand a semester for this idiocy? Arg. You'd think she'd have enough brains to realize that this just isn't gonna happen. Never once in my experience teaching students nor in my 3 years of automotive selling and training have i heard such an assanine request.

That is ridiculous. I've heard of people having to read several chapters but not 8. That's just ludacris.

Thats one of the things that pist me off about school. These teachers think that you are the only one taking their class all day not realizing that you have more than 4 other teachers doing the same thing. Plus in High school and college some have to have a job to pay for their expenses etc. Where the time and the consideration. And they wonder why kids are stressed out early in life.

I remember those days. Same shit, different year. Once I decided to spend a bit more time in the books then fucking around with my friends, I found it wasn't to hard to carry 20 credits each trimester.

Oh i didn't! I sat back and watched Canada beat Finland for the World Hockey Cup championship last night. I'm waiting to see how many students actually did the assignment today so we can all give her a piece of our minds. I may end up being spokesperson for the group, but that's okay by me!

I agree with your post, if you dive into the books harder than the booze you certianly have no troubles. I have a jump-start because i don't drink! I'm also used to a 9 class/semester course load; my program starts by weeding out the people that aren't perseverant (spelling?).

I simply feel that this kind of assignment for overnight is ridiculous. If she wanted it for next week's class, that's not a problem, but overnight just isn't gonna happen.

Wow, i have it easy...lol

All i have this week is a process speech, where i'm going to describe to the class how an engine works in 5 minutes; A math test, but it's just business math which is about the easiest class in the world, and two assignments in my computer class....Being an automotive student rocks!!!! People think were dumber than we really are so they give us more than enough leniency.

1. I'm not gonna kill my teacher! Yikes, talk about drastic action!

2. The prof is a she, and kicking her groin isn't gonna solve the problem Though a swift kick to the head might! (j/k)

3. No, it's an optional course, that's what is sickening.

By the way, she didn't mention anything about the readings in class this afternoon. I don't know what the hell is going on.

Automotive Student at Georgian in Barrie? Me too, same program!! What are the odds? What year are you?

I hear you when it comes to our classes, we're a special breed i guess, they dumb everything down for us which explains why i get 90s with the way i pursue the classes!

You'd think they'd make you work for the piece of paper, but this scenario is over the top!

No it's Parkland College in Champaign IL. It's to bad though it would be cool to find a fellow AF member taking the same classes at the same school. Im in the second year of my 2 year degree studying Automotive Technology with Management Concentration.

Are you training to be a technician or training in broad for any type of automotive job like me? I like that, it keeps my options open and doesn't tie me down to just one field.

No, my Auto course in the Business Administration of Automotive Marketing. It's a business degree that majors in managment and marketing, a 3 year diploma.

The Bachelors degree is then available at Northwood Unviersity or in Australia.

I'm 3rd year for the diploma, then i'm going to Australia for my BA and then returning to Canada to get my teaching degree, a 1 year program when you have a BA in something else.

From there, i dunno. Too bad it's not the same program tho, that would've been cool; a fellow AF member to go hunting with!
