E55 AMG Vs.New M5

Who would win between these 2 high-performance sedans??.I strongly feel that the 469HP Benz could leave the M5 in the dust. I believe the E55 can scoot to 60 in 4.6 seconds while according to alot of websites the 500HP M5 can only do it in 5.0 seconds which is is about the same for the old M5..Kinda dissapointing since the 2000-2003 M5's had 390HP while the new M5's perform the same even with 110 more horsepower.....

Re: E55 AMG Vs.New M5

I dunno much about the new M's. But I have seen the e55 amg in action...WOW. Not too many cars that size can move that fast. I'm not sure on what the outcome of a race between the two might be, but I'm sure the amg will give the M a run for it's money.

In a drag race the AMG I think would win. However this question is for car comparison not street racing.

my only question is how Could BMW dump a V10 with 500HP and still only be as fast as the old M5's???..Theyb shouldnt of lightened the load at least and instead of the V-10 modifyed the superb 5.0 V8...now that would make the MB eat its dust

Re: E55 AMG Vs.New M5

Who cares who would win in a straight line and how can you even include the M5 in a comparo when it's not even been tested yet. Since nothing else matters to you, M5 estimates are "comfortably below 5 seconds" for the sprint to sixty so i should think that equates to 4.6-4.7s.

I'm going to close this as the M5 isnt even out yet, and i dont want a comparo with people talking about something they know nothing of.
