032Toyota Echo Vs.04 Chevy Aveo LS

I just got a used Toyota Echo with a Low-inertia TRD turbo kit a few days ago and i was driving ever sooo cautiosly back home from work when a blue Spankin new Chevrolet Aveo pulls up besides me..To my surprise a rather young and hott lookin girl(prolly around 18 couldnt afford anything better). She gives me a nasty look and as soon as the green light flickered on we both gun it.....I got a good start and i nudged into 3rd as she began to gain on me...Luckily the the turbo began boosting its maximum 7 PSI and i get about 3 car lengths ahead of her..As we merged onto Route 3 i was traveling about 60-70 MPH when i lost her.... first victory hahaha

The Echo is pushin somewhere aound 130-145 HP with the turbocharger and its got some decent power until it hits the 103 MPH governor

Why does an echo have a governor?

Re: 032Toyota Echo Vs.04 Chevy Aveo LS

Nah i bought the ECHO privatley.. and the guy before me custom fitted the Turbocharger because the Echo only puts out 103HP stock. It's quite the sleeper for the occasional Sunfire or Cavalier.I'm planning on getting a "ricer" type 3'' exhaust and my friend is going to customize a Weapon R intake..by the time i get all the shit in, it's gonna have about 160HP

And to anwer your question the ECHO weighs about 2534 Pounds and most low priced "econo-boxes" all have speed limiters because there not made to travel at high speeds and most economy designed engines are designed for slower speeds and consume less fuel ..Of Course i plan on tossing the limiter soon

Sounds good. Are there any decent engine swaps that you could do? Like a camry v6 s/c would pwn in an echo...

Re: 032Toyota Echo Vs.04 Chevy Aveo LS

i think a camry v6 weighs about twice as much as the echo does now...that had to be one hell of a race

The guy i bought it from had some crazy ideas...He was gonna attempt to dump a Celica GT-S engine and was halfway through with ripping out a 99 Solara engine when he decided to sell it because he wanted more money to spend on his old Mazda RX-7...Iam not planning on engine swapping anytime soon because i wanna see how much power the lil 4-banger can handle...Although iam getting tired of maxing out at almost 110 miles per hour even with the governor/speed limiter out.

Echos come stock with 108 hp not 103 and they don't weigh 2534 pounds.. try dropping a good 450-470 lbs off of that. The echo sedan/coupe weighs about 2040-2060lbs. The canadian hatchback weighs about 40 lbs more than the sedan despite the fact it doesn't have a trunk.

Re: 032Toyota Echo Vs.04 Chevy Aveo LS

in order for him to have 200 hp on such a small engine wiith stock internals and so much boost, he would need really good tuning.
