Air Shocks or No?

Hey guys. I had a quick question about air shocks. I have heard from someone that Air Shocks are bad for traction. I personally dont see why it would make any difference. Can anyone else please shed some insight on this subject? Thanks
Rob

Re: Air Shocks or No?

i know plenty of people who use them to increase traction by putting a stiffer setting on the right side than the left side...... or is it the other way around???/ shit, the side of the axle that comes up, i cant remember right now. but im not sure what the effect would be to remove shocks, and install air bags only.

i have air shocks and i didn't see any difference in traction. it's just a cheap way to raise and lower your vehicle.

the only way to make one side stiffer than the other would be to run separate air lines to each one. the kit comes with a T fitting so that both have the same pressure. it'd probly look goofy with one side of the car sitting lower than the other

Thanks for the feedback guys. Im just trying to get all this stuff out of the way before "operation big block". It should be roughly 2-3 weeks and I wil have a 550 horsepower bigblock in my Nova.. IM just trying to get the traction problems and stuff out of the way before the cars ready to go. Thanks again

Air shocks are not meant to be used to help put big power to the ground. It is just a way to raise and lower a cars ride height and keep a comfortbale ride. Also besides that the pumpand valves add a good amount of weight to the car.

air bags use an on board pump, air shocks dont. you pump em up with an air compressor, the same 1/4 valve stem as what's used on tires
