1/4 times from last nights Drag Races.....

Last night i went to Speed World dragway to get some runs in before i do my next mods....my best run coming in was a weak 16.013 @88.7mph. You all know Preludes are hard as hell to launch, but i think i figured this baby out....the results are nice!

Mods: Greddy EVO, AEM CAI

1st Run

RT : .816
60' : 2.317
330 : 6.610
1/8 : 10.112
MPH : 70.59
1000 : 13.093
1/4 : 15.605
MPH : 89.18

2nd Run

RT : .804
60' : 2.368
330 : 6.642
1/8 : 10.106
MPH : 71.29
1000 : 13.060
1/4 : 15.550
MPH : 89.94

I think these numbers are pretty good considering i got the SH model. 15.5 aint that bad for just intake and exaust. What do you all think?

I a week or so im getting these mods put on:

AEM Cam Gears
AEM Power Pulleys
DC Sport Headers
Apex-i VAFC
DYNO Tuned
18" Rims (Unknown) on 225/35ZR/18 tires
2" Drop Front 1" Drop Rear

Im guessing i should run some where around 14.9 - 15.2 with these mods. What do you all think i should expect?

Before i ran the 15.5 i was begining to become a little disappointed with my lude cause i knew it could run mid 15s. Now that i finally figured out how to lauch this puppy, i can finally see the power this car really has.....im in love ya'll..im so in love..........

Well in previous runs i use to hold my RPMs around 3500-4000, but when i released the clutch they will drop down and i would either bog the engine or light up the tires. So what i do now is rev up the engine to about 4000 let of the gas to 3000 and then bring the RPMs back up to 4000, its basically revin your engine, but when i drop the clutch the RPM dont drop. I get really good tire grip with barely peeling out. Its the best way i could find to lauch my car, but every driver is different. Took me alot of practice to get it right, but the numbers make it worth it.

I ran 15.7 stock last summer. I only had two good runs after I/H/E though, a 15.2 and 15.1. Now I have a few more toy's and better tires so I'm hoping for atleast a 14.8 went KCIR reopens. On a good track w/a good launch you could easlily be in the 14's with the additional mod's and tuning.

just make sure those 18's are light, or get some slicks for your stock wheels. they'll slow you down a lot:flash:

Yeah, im kinda still debating on gettin 18's cause i dont want to affect my times. I guess if the total weight of rim and tire equals the ones i have now, it should cause no difference.....?

Hey man, congrats on your times! I only ran a 16.1 and Im in a SS model... Caution on getting the AEM cam gears. They only have 3 screws right? I've heard plenty times alreadythat the AEM gears are the worst to get cause they slip. My friends GSR got ALL messed up cause hey slipped.........

Id recommend getting the skunk2 cam gears..I believe they have 5 or 6 set screws.... Just my opinion.

Thanks man. I was actually leaning towards AEM gears till everyone kept telling me about them having only 3 bolts and could slip. Now im getting either skunk2s or crower gears.
