K&N or Spoon drop in filter?
Iīd just like to know out of interest which one would be better? The Spoon drop-in filter or the K&N drop-in filter? Which one has got a better cleaning effect?
This is what Spoon is writing about their own filter : "...Accordingly, the air-intake system of Honda vehicles is considerably complicated, and in accordance with the fact that this enables an excellent pulsing behavior to be realized, random replacement of the air box and/or the intake piping is not recommended. In the case of NA engines with 100 hp or more per 1000 cc, these components have a very important role to play. Accordingly, the Spoon air cleaner was tested with the focus on reducing air resistance to the lowest-possible level, while at the same time utilizing the pulsing operation in the same way at on the normal configuration...". So does the K&N drop-in has got the same `pulsing operation ī like mentioned in the last sentence like the Spoon and the stock drop-in filter have got? Iīm just curious...

If you're looking for some real power gains, I'd go with an intake. The drop in filters will add 1-3 hp at most. If you're on a budget, the intake shouldn't be too hard to save up for. Most run for 150-200, depending on if you want short ram or the full cold air setup.
I always recommend the AEM cai; a trusted company that delivers.

The K&N would be your best bet in this situation. In terms of just an air filter, you'd be paying more for the Spoon filter because of its name.

If you want to open up the sound some, just remove the resonator. I assume this is an H22 equiped Prelude, the resonator should be in the same location there as it is in the US, so here's a page showing removal instructions.

I also think that the resonator will be in the same location as it is in the US but our side markers are at a different place! How long would somebody who knows the car very well (a Honda mechanic for example ) need to remove it and do I have to remove the butterfly valve, too? Thanx a lot!

The butterfly valve is part of the resonator, it must be removed and the vacuum line plugged along with the resonator. It took me about 1/2 an hour to remove my resonator, it's not a complex job.

k n filter flows better, and cleans better than anything on the market... and if spoon flows better/more air, it isnt filtering as much dirt. kn could make it flow more, but it wouldnt be as clean...
