warranty help..

hey.. im just wondering about my moms car.

2002 Santa Fe 2.4.

nearly 2 years old, 36,000 miles

1- with the air conditioning on, the transmission doesn't shift into 3rd gear until approximately 5000rpms.. and the dealer says that it should do that with the a/c on and that theres nothing wrong.

2- all along the top of the steering wheel is cracked in a straight
line with cracks coming off of it.. it rubs against your hands and becomes
a great bother. This, however, is not covered under the Bumper-to-Bumper warranty? They said that she would have to pay for it, because it is only cosmetic, that it states this in the contract. The only way it would be paid for is if the steering wheel cracked in half, not just the casing.

Does anyone have some sort of information or
a number that I could call? thanks.

Whats strange is that I am looking over the actual Warranty Coverage (download available on my website) and the steering wheel is not even listed. So I guess a call to them is in order to find out if the steering wheel is indeed out of warranty.

You may contact Hyundai at their Consumer Affairs Department toll free at 1-800-633-5151 (5:00 AM - 6:00 PM Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Friday) or write to them at...

Hyundai Motor America
Consumer Affairs Department
P.O. Box 20850
Fountain Valley, CA 92728-0850

Hopefully they would be able to give you an answer directly.
