well you can always turbo charge the 4. it will be alot easier then the v6. and could possibley be more reliable then a turbo 6 as well.

KL-ZE swaps for your car are becoming pretty easy, and relatively cheap. The KL is a JDM 200HP/TQ 2.5 liter V6, that is a direct bolt-on to your car, using the stock mounts (if you have a V6...dunno about 4's to 6).

Here's an EBay listing for one.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Here's a featured Probe with this exact engine.
http://www.superstreetonline.com/fea...ehicles/27798/

There are also turbo-charged versions that are literally Viper beaters.

Oh, and turbo-charging that Ford I-4 of yours is a bad idea. It will only end-up costing you more than if you had gotten a swap, as there is hardly anything for that motor. Parts for the original, stock Probe and MX-3 V6's will fit the KL-ZE, and are in more abundance.

I will believe you on this only because I know by your posts that you are very knowledgable. However, how can a mx-6 kill a viper? Would the turbo charge engine just give the 6 an insane power to weight?
Also the mx6 is fwd...

Considering, most people who buy Vipers/Porsches/Corvettes are in it for just the status. Not nessicarily the speed aspect.

It's quite easy to surprise them with a car they'd never suspect as being fast.

You guys have seen CheeseFrog right? And his fully build Civic? There's a video of him whoopin on a Viper. So, it's possible a Turbo V6 in a Mx-6 could whoop on a Viper.

Just a matter of budget.

Speed is directly related to the thickness of your wallet - How fast can you afford to go?

Re: Undeniable proof...

I was thinking of just buying the KLZE.

All the labor is free so that's a good amount of money cut out.

Problem is, it's also automatic, but I think since the MX6 came also in manual that it already has the harnesses for a manual.

Im more than likely going to be FORCED to do it, that engine has seen many many miles, last count is 173k, and it's starting to give me downshifting problems and idling problems.

That's the dyno-plot of a turbo KL-ZE with good tune, @ 13psi.

The cars weigh about 2800lbs stock. Do the math.

Re: Undeniable proof...

Im still wondering if it was a step up or not.

my old car that I wrecked last year was an 89 blazer... with a torque converter. Torquey sonufabitch.

However the handling on the 6 is tighter than hell and it feels a lot more quick.
