This guy came to my door on the 22nd of July, it's now the 27th of August. So that calculates to over 35 days ago.
He sold me a new phone, with a new plan that works out much cheaper than what I'm currently paying, and seem as though my phone is a shitty old nokia 3310, I needed an upgrade. I was promised, on a written contract, that the phone would BE IN MY HANDS WITHIN 10 WORKING DAYS 35 DAYS LATER, NO PHONE I rang up, a week after it was due, and they said "there is a shortage, it'll be there within the next week" STILL NOTHING So I rode my bike up to the post office to see if they had it, and just hadn't bothered to tell me, well, they didn't have it. So I rang them back up, and that was a week ago, they said to me, and I quote "There is a global shortage, you should have the phone in a few weeks", and I said "how many, be specific" she said "two" so I said FINE. This is a load of crap. My DAD walked off the street and bought the same phone I did, TWO WEEKS AGO. Two days after the guy sold me the phone, my other phone some how managed to break beyond repair, I have no idea how it happened, but the screen literally caved in on it self, and became literally un-readable. So I borrowed my dad's old phone, which is about 4 years older than the other one I was using, and it hardly fucking works, I'm getting sick and tired of waiting, so I rang them back up today, so complain more, and she said "we're out of stock, you'll have it in two weeks" so I said "bull shit, cancel my entire fucking contract, now"...Not using those words, but I did cancel. Then she says "You can only cancel within 10 days" so I said "Well I was promised on my contract that I would have my new phone within 10 days, since you are in breach of that, I will act now to cancel my entire contract, or I will force it" (Which I had every legal right to do) So she didn't argue with that, and I got my way...Again.. Goddamn it, global shortage my ass. Nokia are the most respected phone company IN THE WORLD, they're not going to UNDERSTOCK anyone, for any reason. If anything, they'll over stock so they don't have this problem. This is the one business strategy every product company has, and if you don't use it, then you'll last about 1-2 years before you fail. So my plan is to literally walk off the street tomorrow and get the same damn phone I was suppose to in the first place. Half price. I hate Australian phone companys. Bullshit artists they are! |

My dad has an awesome plan (on the same phone I was trying to get) that's like 30 bucks a month free calls (or whatever) but it builds up over 3 months, then resets.
In other words, if I don't use 10 bucks for a month, it continues onto the next month, and so fourth, so I'm gunna try and hook up with that contract BTW, the company I originally was going for, was AAPT. That's right, assholes, I'm not happy and I'm giving you a bad name. Even if the global shortage bullshit they told me was true, they should at least have the decency to send a letter, or even a phonecall, after all, I AM A CUSTOMER, well, not anymore. |

Mate, I just go direct to Telstra or Optus or whoever on their website. I ordered my 6100 (awesome little phont BTW - smaller than 8250 and colour, WAP, the ducks nuts), had it in my hot little hands 2 working days later and off I went! $50 free calls every month because I spend over $120.
Don't give them the CHANCE to much you around.

hehe, I'll sell you two phones for the price of one. Ones a Samsung phone with an MP3 player, the other a Nokia 2280. I got a nice shiny new Sony-Ericsson K700i today. Just thought I needed to show off

I went to the shop yesturday, the guy said there is a shortage, I knew that, but he said he had one left, and I went there today, and picked it...The same model I originally ordered. It kicks ass! |

Yeah, and the guy that walked in the store an hour after you purchased the same model, which was the last one they had.....
