My wife has a 99 DX. It has a/c. No vtec. No power windows. No power locks. No tape or cd deck (am/fm only). No tachometer.

I am sure that there are other things that it's not equipped with...I just can't think of them all, right now

as do I.. 97 civic dx coupe. *shrug* I'm going to get an engine swap soon anyway.

here's another thing it lacks: horsepower.

Can you ask a honda dealer, if they can install power windows and locks and those other options a, lets say an ex, has. I really like the hatchback compared to the coupes, but if I have to get everything installed just to match options to the ex, it won't be worth it.

Horsepower does not matter to me since in the future, I'll drop in a b18c engine.

sunroof, power windows and doors, etc... yeah it'd cost quite a bit to get it up to an ex in options. a sunroof can be bought and installed at a place in atlanta called classic soft trim for like 799, electric.

Why bother with all of this stuff, anyway. Use the money for the swap.

I highly doubt they wouldn't have it as a factory option like the 5th gens. What if you don't the extras but still want ac? It's a factory option on any model.

I don't know about US hatches but I have a Canadian '96 cx hatch that I bought used. Came with tach, A/C, rear wiper, p/s, p/b, am/fm/cassette, and cargo cover. I put in an aftermarket moonroof and everyone thinks it's stock Here's some pix of the roof.

Yes, it comes w/ 2 mirrors.

A/C and PS are options. Some CXs have it, most don't.

Shop around.
