Any Swimmers Here?

Anybody here swim?
I just started swimming again about two weeks ago after about four years out of the pool. It's not like riding a bike, it doesn't stay with you forever, so I'm trying to do a decent job at all the strokes again. So far the backstroke has been the easiest to remember, and I'm still trying to get my crawl and breaststroke right - not that I was very good at the breaststroke when I stopped anyway, but practice makes perfect.
Anyway, any other swimmers here?

Re: Any Swimmers Here?

Not really, just out of practice for a very long time. Alot of it was really easy to recall, I just had a few minor things tripping me up.

Re: Any Swimmers Here?

i like diving, not trick diving. High diving. Loved it since i was little. Recently found a dam with a 53 foot wall leading into a 40 foot pool on the closer side of the dam. Real fun, but a bit scary cause on the other side of the dam theres like a 100 foot drop. Theres also a nice grassy area to picnic and sun bathe its fun.

And I thought '2Stroke' was a reference to your sex life, not chosen sport!

Re: Any Swimmers Here?

Everyday in everyway, I'm getting better and better. Well I wish I could swim everyday - but I can't. But I'm almost now as good as I was at the backstroke as I was when I stopped, and almost as good at front crawl (still needs work) as I was.
Today was my first time using hand paddles, I was told to take it easy, for fear of shoulder injury, so I only used them for 100 yards, it didn't seem any harder or any faster using them, but it was obvious that I was getting more distance per stroke: A fact quickly brought to my attention on my first lap using them, when I banged my head into the wall of the pool, not expecting to get there with so few strokes (outdoor pool, no backstroke flags!).
However using them felt weird, so I only did use them for 100 yards. Anybody else use these? Is there any trick to using them?
