big block 460

the engine comes with a c6 tranny, should i just put the whole thing in there? If not, what kind of bellhousing would i need?

I'd use the C-6 makes life a lot easier. Unless there is a big reason you don't want to use a C-6.

im putting it in a bronco, reason i asked in here is it always takes a while to get a reply in the bronco forum, and i fig people with older mustangs would know about big blocks, so thats why i asked in here. thx for all your help by the way. My uncle came across a 302 with 60k miles and i bought it for 500. Its out of a lincoln mark 7 i believe. I just have to decide if i want to run fuel injected or carb

I have the harness and pc.

if you plan to do any steep hills or anything go FI. i like carbs a lot better for older street cars, but not for that type of stuff.

I agree, for off roading I would also go with fuel injection. I asked what you were putting it in because there was one guy at the track that had a fox mustang with a 460 and a 300 shot. Brings tears to your eyes doesn't it?

a friend of mine was saying that a carb would be better for off road because electrical stuff and water/mud dont get along all to well

I dont need it to have great mileage, hell, its a bronco! Why do yall recomend FI for offroading?

Carbs can't be tilted too much, otherwise the fuel won't get to the jets and therefore the engine. Fuel injection doesn't care whether its right side up. If you are going to be doin serious offroading, consider fuel injection or propane injection. If not, then you can just as easily go with a carb and have no problems. If you don't expect your bronco to be at any extreme angles, I wouldn't worry about it.

better hope he is running boost if he is going to inject propane. propane will give the same affect as injectiong Alcohol into the engine. If you don't have the compression to maintain a flame with that cold of an aircharge, then all it is going to do is sputter and backfire.

I gotcha. Yall wouldnt know of any webpages on making wiring harnesses would ya? I have the wiring harness from the 302, but i have to make it fit my bronco, so i need some webpages/info on how to combine the two. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

or do i have to combine the two? can i just run the wiring harness that goes to all the engine stuff, or do i need the other wiring harness that went to the lights and god knows what else, lol. I pulled that off the car also just incase. The whole reason i was leaning towards a carb is because ive never tried to hook up FI on a carb'd car, so i would need some info

It doesnt seem too hard as long as i take my time and match everything up.
