Question Civic or Hatchback??

im torn on which civic to get. either the civic si or the civic hatch back. if i get the si, it will be around a year 97-98 but if its a hatchback im gonna get a year 94-95. i have got many different opinions and i still dont know which one to get. hatchback is faster but people says its a trashy car cuz usually trashy people have em and its kinda not as nice as the civic si. i might not even get the civic si, it might be a lx or ex. what does the letters even stand for? i know si is the best but whats the next best? please help me decide on which car to get cuz i really dont now what i should pick anymore. what do you think the price ranges will be for the car with good mileage? im planning to hook up these cars alot and use stick. thanx for any tips or help
p.s. i would also appreciate if you could tell me the name of a website where i can compare the civic and see how they both look in those year ranges.

i would go with the hatchback if your not getting the si, but if it is a si i'd rather get that

Unless your in canada, they didnt make the civic si in 97-98. It is the EX here in the states though. As for the hatchback...if your getting a 94-95, get a Si hatchback with the D16Z6(SOHC VTEC).

I would get the Si.

Don't recall them being available in 97-98 though.

....unless getting a newer car is going to break you and leave no $$ for mods

...then I would go with the older hatch :alien:

It doesn't matter what kind of people drive the hatch. I could care less about that because I know I am far from trash

Its only SOHC though, not DOHC like the 99-00 Si Coupe.

Huh?

First, do you live in the US? That makes a big difference in specs & models.

You can get a Civic Si as a hatchback from model years 92-95 that has the D16Z6 SOCH VTEC (as 90CRXZCSI previously said) or you can get a 99-00 coupe style Si with the B16A2 DOCH VTEC engine. Personally, I like the newer Si, but if you don't have a lot of money to spend on a relatively new car, the older one is cool. If I am wrong on any of the model year numbers, someone pleeeaaaseee correct me, I don't want to be giving out false info .

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

)I have both a coupe and the hatchback...I can tell you that they are both very lovely cars. My next car will be an OG civic (I'm talking way way OG, like before I was born ) anyways...you can't really go wrong with either of the cars you've mentioned. The SOHC VTEC Si hatch was made from 92-95 and the B16a DOHC VTEC Si coupe was in 99-00. Both are relatively fast for USDM Civics, probably the two fastest ones we got stateside. The 99-00 Si has all the luxuries of the 92-95 Si plus a better power train and suspension/wheel package, only disadvantage is that it's a bit heavier than the 92-95 Si hatch. the 99-00 Si has more potential unless you plan to swap. Either way, it's a good choice, you will love either one...I do.
