Well, Honda engines are in general very robust I think. It really doesnt matter if uve got VTEC or not (I havent heard of any problems with the VTEC system and or the solenoid after a certain mileage)! The thing is a little bit racing doesnt destroy the engine BUT if ure (for example ) going over 7000rpm with a cold engine its ur problem, the engine wont love this!

But if u let it warm up and check it sometimes, do some maintenance there shouldnt be a problem hitting 150.000 or more.

That was a struggle to read

To answer your question, whether its DOHC or SOHC, Vtec or Non, Honda motors can last 200k+ easy. Running your car hard here and there prolongs its life by keeping the combustion chamber clean, fuel injectors clean of clogs, and such. I'm not saying, go run your car up to 120mph everyday, but I'm saying it's beneficial to 'use your vtec'.

To the best of my knowledge, VTEC engines dont last any longer than other honda motors. It's not like there are parts specifically to increase the longevity of the motor.

By the time your ready for a new engine or car, I'm sure your stock Z6 will be fine.
