Finished - Opel Calibra V6 DTM

Here is my latest build, a rare Tamiya kit of the Opel Calibra V6 which raced in the 1994 DTM (German Touring Car Championship) against the Mercedes C-Class and Alfa Romeo 155s. The Calibra used a cosworth tuned V6 engine and a sophisticated 4WD system. I have been a huge fan of DTM for a few years now and have been following every race this season, and i am also a big fan of the Opel team which races in the DTM, I just wish Tamiya would build this years Opel Vectra V8 in my sig!

Anyway this kit was very fun to build with no fitment problems at all, if you can find one its definately worth buying. Enjoy the pics!

Nice!

It would be great if Tamiya realeased all the DTM cars of this year! They're awesome, and colorful!
Will a Vectra win a race this year?... They seem to be fast enough to.

It looks pretty good. I've been searching for this model a few years ago. Couldn't find it, and somewhere I lost hope to find it someday. It's just such a beautifull car. Great work

Very nice build Spitfire Have you done something to the tyres, they look very shiny?
I didn't think this kit was that rare, although I guess it's not as common as the various DTM Mercs.

How are Opel going in this year's DTM? They haven't had much joy for the past couple of years.

Nothing done to the tires, i guess they just look that way. And Opel won the 96 DTM, and Reuter got third place in his Opel at last weekends race in Oserscleben, so hopefully they are improving.

Nice. I have built this one too. Actually I have 3 of these kits, but they are already quite hard to find, at least here in Finland. One of my DTM-Calibra kits is the JJ Lehto's Cliff-sponsored one with JJ Lehto's original autograph in the box... I would get any number of these kits if I could find more... As I own a real Opel Calibra too...

And I've been following the DTM series very intensively... It's possibly one of the best and most interesting racing series there is worldwide.

Very nice build. And a very nice kit. I built this kit myself when it first came out so it must have been about 10 years. Is it the Tamiya one? That's the one i built. I was very inpatient when i did mine so i didn't get quite as nice a result as this one. I've got it in a cupboard in england somewhere. I now live in Sweden.

Nice building job there. The tires do look a bit shiny, like they are brand new. I built the black Cliff car a few years ago, sold it to a friend of mine, who gave it to JJ Lehto.
