Skunk and Edelbrock intake manifold just a type r manifold?

Ok, I want to get an intake manfiold sooner or later.. But I was wondering... Are those aftermarket Skunk2 and the edelbrock intake for any bseries engine just a replica of the type r one? Thanks

they are not an exact replica. the Type-R manifold has a different bolt pattern than the dual-stage manifold. therefore, you would have to drill a different set of holes on the Type-R one. The Skunk2 and Edelbrock have a direct bolt pattern, therefore no modification is required - just slap that bitch on, and go. hope this helps.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the Skunk2 is basically the same as a port/polished Type-R manifold...So although it is a replica, it is not quite exact

Skunk2 Racing Intake Manifold

The most restrictive part of a factory induction system is the intake manifold, but an appropriate aftermarket replacement has never been available until Guide Group-A Autosports has successfully designed the Skunk2 Racing Intake Manifold. The Skunk2 Racing Intake Manifold has substantially improved flow characteristics over the factory unit. Dyno-testing has shown an 8 to 15 hp increase on naturally aspirated applications at the wheels. The Skunk2 Racing manifold is also perfect for forced induction applications. The Skunk2 Racing manifold is available for DOHC 1.6-1.8 VTEC and non-VTEC engines and is designed to utilize all factory sensors. Use of this manifold will not affect emissions.

the ITR I/M and skunk2 I/M are pretty much the same...

edelbrock I/M has way shorter/fatter runners....in my opinion great for f/i but not for n/a
