Why doesn't anybody....

Why is it that when looking through model galleries you never see a picture of the underside of the model, which in many cases is the most detailed part of the exterior of the car. A good example is the R34 built by guiddy in the gallery here. The suspension and exhaust systems are mentioned, but there are no pics of them. Surely there could at least be one picture of the bottom of the model. After all, a lot of people take pictures of both sides of their models, which are usually the same, just reversed.

Oh and that R34 is bloody amazing!! Are you sure thats a model?

Good question

I've never really bothered as most of the models in the gallery are built on the threads and ppl see them in there.

I was wondering that myself because I wanted to use some pictures of the bottom of cars for reference. I remember that Kris (kbslacker) took a picture of the underside of his ITR. He had to hold it with his left hand, tho. I guess people don't take pictures of the underside of models because it's hard to take pictures of the underside of real cars. That's what I figure anyway.

I always take pics of the chassis, but them my pics turn out like #@^*() #% && @#$& (*:zx11pisse&%#!@# (^*($@ *()( #@#$% %@^%*& %&@$& :zx11pisse

A fine example of my crap-tastic photos:

Although that's not the best example of an underside shot, since the white on white underbelly is kinda boring to look at! I've taken a few of my NSX underside, but so far they're not even worth scanning.

I WASTE FILM Arrg, sorry! :o

I'm going to borrow a digi cam soon, though...

a little bitter, are we, Jay?

That shot actually looks good. And I'm not humoring you, either. :silly2: What kind of car is it? It looks like a Skyline. 33 maybe?

Yup.

I don't think I've taken pics of the underside of the MR2, though. It's very simple...

Here you go then, lots of undersides in one fell swoop!
I wouldn't take underside pics for the gallery, but if you fllow the threads I usually incluse an underside pic there, as per my S2000, R34, STI, GT3 etc. etc.
Some race cars have great undersides, some are just flat bottomed for aerodynamics!
