Re: Bike Model
Its kind of sad that one of the most revolutionary sport / race bikes ever has never been done in plastic. Tamiya would have sold bunches to me.

Re: Bike Model
None of the revolutionary sport bikes?
The Katana was revolutionary and Tamiya has released that.

Re: Bike Model
I said one as in 1, not none.
So, the Katana may have been, I saw a few on the street, but never saw any on the track, let alone any of my buddies come up and say my Katana is going to kick your GSXR's butt. The 1st gen. GSXR had more technological inovations than any other sport / race bike up to that point. It was, still is and always will be a legend. The Katana can't say that. I don't think any GSXRs have been done in plastic but there are some pretty good diecasts out there. Perhaps you could repaint and modify one into the model/year your looking for. I took a cheap New Ray diecast of a CBR600 and repainted it to resemble my bike. I was also building a high pipe exhaust for it like my bike had. My 1:1 bike was stolen soon after I started the project. Needless to say, the project was never finished.

Re: Bike Model
Sad to say I'm not too optimistic to see any releases of the type of sport bikes you talk about. Europe and USA have a lot of GSXRs, Honda 900rr:s and Kawasaki ZX-9r:s on the roads and probably just as many of the 600 cc versions. What seems to be the problem is that, at least Tamiya, plastic models mostly sell on the japaneese market. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard numbers of 70 percent of their production goes to the domestic market. Japaneese riders are said to be more keen on the high cc bikes and that's wy we've got the ZX-12, Super Blackbird and the Hayabusa but only the R1 as a bike we're more used to see over here. That's how I've got it explained to me.
