Smile In Progress - Lotus Europa Special

I don't have a lot of progress to show yet, but the body. I used this body as a test for spraying Cobra Colors paint (www.cobracolors.com). It came out very nice and I think I'll keep working on it. I'm also working on the Carrera GT, and it will be sprayed in a Cobra Colors paint also. Not this one though.

This body was sprayed in GRIGIO ALLOY METALLIC. (my favorite color for the 360) over Tamiya white primer.

Nice color!
I have not seen too many of these cars on the forum... but I am definitely interested in seeing this one done.

Keep it up! (and get some pics of that GT! )

Hell Yeah!

Lotus Sweetness!

I ve always wanted to see a nice build of this kit !
I suppose it s got full engine and chassis detail right! Otherwise I dont see the purpose of making a lotus model
Great colour, I might want to try cobra colours too!

The fitment of parts is very nice so far. I picked this up at Hobby Lobby's 1/2 off sale for $12 it's normally $24. I think the Lotus Super 7 kit sells for about $12, I have that one too, and it is a nice kit. Simple & small, but typical Tamiya quality.

Bigfrit - It does have full engine and chassis detail. I was actually thinking about building it curbside but there is less than 10 parts in the engine bay, so I'll put the motor in.

Looks good so far, but I can't get how that color looks.
GRIGIO ALLOY METALLIC? umm... expecting more progress then might find out how GRIGIO ALLOY METALLIC looks like actually.

Re: In Progress - Lotus Europa Special

Kunta - In these pics it really looks too blue for grigio alloy metallic. I will try some different settings on my camera to get the true color of this car. It's more silver with a light blue tint. It's been clearcoated now, so after the body is polished, and the BMF window trim is completed I will post some sunlight shots.

Re: In Progress - Lotus Europa Special

Thanks for the nice responses so far.

I updated the pics in the first post to show the color better. I changed the settings on my camera to capture it well.

I can't get over how tiny this car is. It almost fits inside the Carrera GT body.

Nice, Matt. The finish's tone comes across well on my PC screen. Anxious to see it complete.
