Clunking In Drivers Side Seat

Hi I purchased a 4 runner at the end of May 2004 after a couple of weeks i started getting a clunk on the drivers side. When i brought the vehicle in for service i was told that all the 4Runner SR5's did have the clunking noise. Was wondering if anybody else has experienced this problem Thanks By the way it is a 2004

I also got a 2004 SR4 4-runner recently and noticed the same clunking. I was starting to think that there was something wrong with the driver's seat. Were you ever able to get an explanation as to what causes this or how it can be fixed? Thanks.

I see this problem at least once a week. when the 4runner was made they had a bad set of seats. if the noise that u are hearing in a click or cluck, slide the seat all the way up and squeeze the out track on the outer track assembly. this will just isolate the noise if it does go away the use a hammer and a punch and bend the track in so it will hold the inner slide tighter

Re: Clunking In Drivers Side Seat

I have a similar problem only I feel the thump whenever I make a sharp turn.
The driver's side seat has an adjustment in the front thaty lifts or lowers your legs at the knees.
It seems that the piece of metal or plastic that is under the front end of the seat that allows for this adjustmet has allot of play in it and tends to slide from side to side.
I also feel the thump iunder the seat whenever I accelerate.
My seat does not seem to be loose though so I chalk it up to just another annoying quirk due to poor Engineering that seems to plague this truck's design.
